After noticing a lack of functional yet stylish laptop cases while working as a journalist for French television, Clare Vivier decided to create her own line of handbags and accessories to satisfy that need. Defined by the delicate marriage of classic shapes, modern detail and Parisian charm, Vivier has built a brand that continues to push the design envelope with each new collection. Vivier was recognized for her contributions as a new member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) in 2014.
A Do Good Brand
Clare V. is entirely locally made in Los Angeles, which is a huge testament to their commitment to the community and to sustainable production. As the business has grown, keeping production in Los Angeles has been a priority. And as they’ve grown, they’ve seen all of their factories hire more, which has a direct impact on the local economy. Getting to know their partners, supporting their local economy and having a direct connection for quality control is an important component of being American made.
