LnA was founded just one year ago in Los Angeles by partners Lauren Alexander and April Leight. Both Southern California natives that grew up by the ocean in laid back beach cities. Lauren who grew up in San Diego and April who grew up in Malibu both moved to Hollywood in their early twenties. They met through a girlfriend in the Hollywood social scene. It was there that Lauren and April learned a lot about each others passion for fashion.
Lauren Alexander, had been designing her own dress line for a few years already becoming an emerging and cutting edge designer. Leight, a fashion fiend loved to study fashion in magazines and across the world. Both knew they could work together to collaborate on new items that they both wanted to wear but could not find. They quickly realized that they both were fans of the simple basic tee and could not find it to go with their jeans for the day or a skirt for the night. It was then, in 2007, that LnA was launched.
Known for its colorful, flattering and wearable take on the Men’s under tee, they launched the “Boyfriend Tee Collection”. The duo’s designs are wholly inspired by their lifestyles, sharing an affinity for wearing their boyfriend’s tees. After bonding over their fashion backgrounds and the idea that his weren’t fitted to flatter her body, the LnA concept came about. “We wanted to design the perfect basic, the new staple for every woman’s wardrobe. Our goal was to create the new lifestyle t-shirt that mastered fit, versatility, and color range” said Lauren. It was then that “LNA had become a line that is simple and understated chic” April adds. It paid off quickly, their first collection was snatched up by the trendsetting boutiques and major department stores across the world in under a year. And there is no sign of this line slowing down.
Now available in over fifteen styles and over 20 colors for both men and women, the eye-catching color palette includes colors such as violet, indigo, cherry and canary. While the looks are wide-ranging, the most popular styles are the Deep V Tee for women and the crew neck for men.
In 2008, LNA decided to expand onto other hot items such as the leggings for the women, 80s inspired hoodies, cardigans, and super fine cotton henleys for both men and women. All of which are the standard look of LNA which is bright, bold and offbeat. They have expanded to colors such as pumpkin, fire, marigold, emerald and hot pink. LNA debuts to rave reviews, resulting in much-deserved press and a devoted following of Hollywood’s elite. The soft, comfy tees already have a loyal celebrity following.
