Hanky Panky

A Mindfully Made Brand

Hanky Panky has been manufacturing in the Northeast area of the USA since 1977. This saves time, fuel, and shipping costs, drastically reducing the generation of CO2. It also allows the company to monitor both the quality of their products in the factories and the working conditions. 100% of the fabrics and trims used to make the Signature Lace styles are knitted in the USA. Even the Supima® cotton fibers used to make the lining are grown in the USA. Supima® cotton has a smaller environmental impact than foreign-grown cottons. According to Supima.org, “The implementations of new technologies allow U.S. cotton producers to minimize the impact on the environment by using less water, land and energy.”

Packaging concepts are executed with 100% recycled paper and board and are conceived as keepsake items for an extended life. Hanky Panky strives to make packaging and shipping materials easily recyclable.

Instead of water coolers with plastic bottles, Hanky Panky installed filters to purify NYC tap water, and each employee is provided with a BPA-free reusable water cup.

Instead of paper towels, employees are encouraged to each keep their own reusable towel.

In 2018, Hanky Panky launched Lingeriecycle™, their sustainability initiative to help divert worn out, no longer wearable bras and panties from landfills. Items sent for recycling are finely shredded. Metal items such as underwires and hooks are separated out by magnets and sent to a metal recycler. Fabric components are ultimately converted into carpet padding.

Hanky Panky donates to the American Red Cross, WWF, Girl Scouts and Make A Wish, as well as several other animal welfare, human rights and cancer research charities.
